2 Bedroom Cabin in Burnsville
THE PERCH AT PISGAH — MAIN FLOOR · 2BR LOG CABIN · BURNSVILLE, NC · SLEEPS 5
2 Bedrooms | 1.5 Baths | Sleeps 5 | 4 Decks | Fire Pit | Dog Wash Station | EV Charger
At 3,200 feet in Pisgah National Forest outside Burnsville, NC, The Perch at Pisgah — Main Floor is a two-bedroom retreat that gives small groups, couples, and families access to one of the most spectacular settings in the Blue Ridge. The entire Black Mountain range — anchored by Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak east of the Rockies — stretches across the horizon from nearly every room. Guests describe it as "very secluded with a million dollar view" and "one of the best stays I've ever had, anywhere." Four decks, a propane fire pit, a covered pergola, a stone fireplace, and altitude-cooled air complete the picture. At 3,200 ft, temperatures run 10–15°F cooler than the valley in summer. Fall color runs late September through October.
FALL AT THE PERCH — MAIN FLOOR
At 3,200 ft in the Black Mountain range, fall color begins as early as late September and runs through October — a full month of spectacular mountain foliage, arriving earlier and more vividly than lower elevations and valley towns. All four decks are yours — four distinct vantage points as color moves across the Black Mountain range throughout the day. The covered deck keeps you outside on rainy fall days. The propane fire pit extends evenings outdoors as temperatures cool. The fairy-light loft is the natural place to land with a book and a blanket when the evenings turn cold. Peak color typically mid-to-late October — but spectacular from late September onward.
SLEEPING — 2 Bedrooms · 1.5 Baths · Sleeps 5
The master suite is the centerpiece — a cathedral pine beam ceiling arching overhead, a corner soaking tub, a dedicated workspace, and a door that opens directly onto a private deck with mountain views. Above the main living area, the fairy-light loft is its own world: navy blue shiplap walls, glowing pine beams, a double bed with twin trundle, a game table, and a bean bag for whoever loses the bed argument. Half bath on the main level.
LIVING & DINING
The great room is expansive and warm — soaring cathedral pine beam ceilings, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, a large sectional, and picture windows that frame the Black Mountain range from every angle. A telescope is on hand for daytime ridge-watching and stargazing after dark. The farmhouse trestle table seats eight at a sliding-glass-door dining room that opens straight onto the deck. The full kitchen bar adds four leather counter stools for casual meals and morning coffee. The knotty pine kitchen is fully equipped with granite countertops, stainless appliances, and a dedicated coffee station with a Cuisinart dual brewer, burr grinder, and electric kettle.
FOUR DECKS — All Yours
The main deck is built for gathering — a propane fire pit with lounge seating, a six-seat dining table, and a Weber grill, all with unobstructed Black Mountain range views. The covered pergola deck with green metal roof and string lights gives you a sheltered outdoor living room for any weather — rain doesn't end the day here. A third deck has a hanging egg chair and private mountain views. A fourth deck has a rope hammock and quiet corners for reading or watching the ridge change color through the day.
