Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Quiet, spacious, lots of plusses with the interior as in size, clean, moderately well equipped, well-heated, ten minute walk (uphill) from city centre.

Negative: Lots! Step down to property was a home-made decking, loose-fitting triangle. The key box was faulty - any number opened it as it didn't lock (slide not working). The main problem was: Booked through Booking.com, managed by a remote agency, owner not involved. Therefore on-site issues took too long to deal with. Firstly, there was no information about using equipment, where the laundry room was, how the cooker worked, how the heating worked. Vert supplied emails concerned with telling you what you could and couldn't do and the penalties for not complying - including cleaning penalties despite us paying for cleaning! The wifi details supplied were not for the property AND the router in place wasn't working. This took until day 2 to resolve and we had no internet service on the Faroes (not packaged available) so had to find a cafe in town to let Vert know. The cooker issue (using the grill) was never resolved and there was no toaster. We worked it out by day 3! The property was advertised with a TV - yes one existed but it didn't work! Not unless you had travelled with a digital smartcard! On day 3 Vert said there were no TV channels, people used digital TV - so false advertising in effect. There should be penalties or some reimbursement for the problems that caused us a lot of wasted time and no TV. The laundry room, it turned out, was separate to the property, outside: And was damp and mouldy, quite smelly. We didn't need to use it fortunately. A hairdryer would have been useful and not an unfair expectation. Another missing item was a draining train (minor washing up) and somewhere to hang tea towels. Problems will always arise, usually small and the property has great potential but the service (VERT) is clearly designed to be remote, minimal and by email to save staffing costs - it doesn't work! A laminated card on the table advised the use of a QR code for help - which we tried - but which simply took you to an advert for Trip.com.
